Fave is the 9th shot. The is high contrast and the fingers (along with folds in the sheets caused by the fingers) look like leading lines to me. My eyes read the photo left to right because they are automatically drawn to the dark mass on the left first.
I think that the positioning of the toothbrushes in your images work well into your compositions; however, I encourage you to explore more of the compositional elements in the pieces to augment the power of your pics. Overall good job.
I've never seen a toothbrush so sad and betrayed as the second photo (haha). Also, the contrast in your 11th photo between the hand and the sheet is successful. The lines of the finger and then the lines of the sheets also create some interesting movement of for the eye within you composition.
The dynamic contrast between the toothbrushes and their positioning (almost having a personality) conveys the relationship depicted in the song, in a new and literal sense.
There is almost a subtle relationship between the last 2 photos - the fingers between the sheets slightly resemble the bristles on the toothbrush. Overall, I really enjoy the narrative of this series.
The contrast used in the tenth picture is really captivating, and most of the pictures have a really nice texture from the blankets. The shallow depth of field on the toothbrushes gives them an almost human-like resemblance.
In the fourth photo the face of the model stands out nicely, almost as if they are glowing. Nice use of contrast. The eighth photo benefits strongly from the over exposed window which creates an interesting white rectangular shape in the background.
Each of these photos is well composed to tell your story. the 4th and fith show your attention to detail on staging your model. The arial photo of the toothbrushes could've been composed in a way that the back-round was a consistent texture, and the subj. wou;d've come out stronger. But seriously good job
Overall, I think you were successful at creating a mood that relates well to your song. The contrast in your editing also help contribute to the overall mood - especially the transition from the third photo to the fourth in how the girl’s face goes from white and glowing to a gloomy gray that blends into the blankets. The eighth photo has a really satisfying contrast with the white window and her dark hair that frames her nicely. I think that if she we were to be positioned slightly more center within that window, it could have been even more successful.
i love ur 6th photo its almost like a textbook example of the rule of thirds with hints of texture that is so pleasing to look at. also love the 7th photo and the lack of light leading toward the subtle movements in the photo.

ReplyDeleteThe contrast is nice in the hands on the sheets. The symmetrical toothbrushes is your best image with the lighting and everything included.
