MARINA BURKE: Cupcakes jumping funnily at grog????

  1. The best photo is definitely the first one, as it captures the 'jumping' element very well and presents the motion of the hair well. Successfully capturing the social nature of the Grog with cupcakes sounds like a hard thing to do, but this photo set might say otherwise.

  2. The nature of these photos is really exciting and you captured "fun" very well! The photos where your subjects are mid-air are the most successful in my opinion - there is a strong emphasis on the subject. Also, you have great values in your photos and you used the flash effectively.

  4. The first and second photos are really strong when dealing with this weeks theme. The fact that you were able to capture the cupcake right at the guy's nose in the second one makes it really funny and a great composition. Awesome work these photos turned out great. Hope you had fun at Grog ;)

  5. I love the second photo because the cupcake sits at his nose making it look like a clown. the first one was also very successful because it matched the prompt exactly.

  6. The first photo does the best at capturing the prompt. Both the motion and model's expression are also great.

  7. The motion in these pictures are great. I love how you went to grogs btw. Your pics came out with a very fun appeal to them, which sparks my interest. Both the motion in your photos, and the lighting was nice to see.

  8. These "moments" are carefully captured and compositionally strong in relation to the narrative! The implied messiness of the cupcake landing after it is thrown in mid air gives a sort of tension which I think is captivating.

  9. Great photos! They relate to the prompt really week and are very dynamic. The framing of each photo is great.

  10. i think you found a way to make your prompt seem "fun-er" than it already sounds. taking human portraits for this assignment made each photo feel very individualistic while they still each followed in suit with prompt.

  11. These were amazing. Everyone seemed to have a hell of a time with your cupcakes. You truly captured the epitome of college drunks hyping up for silly things. These all feel really nice overall though because they really feel like snapshots in time - almost as if we were at grog (which I don't aprpeciate tbh). You have really nice contrast in your photos but I think you could have gone into photoshop and contrasted the cupcakes a bit more just to make them really pop.
