For most of these photos I was very literal, pulling key phrases and words from the song. With other photos, I was more interpretive with the way I visually represented words like "charming" and phrases such as "return the ring".
The framing used in your pictures is really captivating and really draw your eye to the subject! You used nice texture in most of your pieces, but I would suggest making some other compositional elements more evident, such as patterns and symmetry.
I think your 7th image of the ruffled fabric is very eye capturing, someone can really get a feel for the texture. The compositions are laid out nicely, I encourage you to make some elements more apparent in your work, but overall great shots.
I'm in love with the 9th photo of the ring. The subject is nicely isolated and while it doesn't necessarily contrast with the background, the crisp shadow that it casts sure does! This is also a good use of the rule of thirds.
The ring picture is probably my favorite because its so simplistic and isolating. The aesthetic ugh obsessed. But I also think the clothing pictures really came across nicely with executing the texture composition.
Your decision to use a diptych to present the narrative was very successful! The isolated compositions are compelling yet somber like the lyrics to the song.
The second photo is the most intriguing to me. The way line brings you into the composition connects the audience and the piece. The reflection from the frame to view the silhouette of an object is successful and gives almost a surreal quality to your image.
The experimentation with shape, both the circles in the beginning and the folds in the later cloth, creates some interesting compositions. The photo of the car is my favorite, as it contrasts against the black background and the entire car isn't in frame, allowing the viewer to focus on the reflections on the vehicle.
holy cow these are super well taken. I think that your use of diptychs was smart and add another layer of juxtaposition but also forming relationships between objects. My only suggestion would be in the third photo would be to rotate it so that the wood is completely horizontal in the lower stack to better frame the bike handle. Great work!!
im loving all these photos as ur interpretation of this song it fits very well. i really love the diptych as i think it brings to light some very interesting comparisons between the almost pattern like ruffles of the sheets and the acute stillness of the hanger and its shadow. also love the image of the ring and the horizon line is very powerful. great job
