I love that your subject matter was an umbrella and not a person. It's something different and I think I might try that for this next week's 200 photos because I'm getting a bit bored photographing people. My favorite photos are the ones involving the burlap sack and the umbrella. The contrast between the burlap's coarse weave and the umbrella's sleek, rain-proof material is very satisfying to look at.
I'm really liking the incorporation of the umbrella. Very unique style and I love how you put the object with the symmetrical buildings, very aesthetically pleasing to me.
I really love the way you used the umbrella as your subject in these photos. The angles are really interesting and I love your placement of the umbrella throughout your photos, great work!
Julie, Very good attempt this week. These are really really dramatic photos, so dramatic that I could almost overlook the fact that they are shot on campus, almost! Please do not shoot on campus, especially the FAD building. I will not accept in the future. Your use of line is really powerful, the images looking up against the building are really great. I appreciate how much you've edited your photos but be careful not to over edit, some of your images are starting to glow unnaturally (a tell tale of the dodge tool) . You use of contrast is really great. In the future pick subject matter that tell a story that is relatable. Whats the relationship between this particular building and the umbrella? Overall good job.

ReplyDeleteThese dramatic compositions of the umbrella in solitude almost give it a personality, like a Pixar movie!

ReplyDeleteI love the umbrella! Great theme and the contrast pulls the whole composition together!
ReplyDeleteWhat makes some of these photos the best is the way that the umbrella catches the light, allowing it to stand out against the dark backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteI love this umbrella’s narrative. You did a great job portraying it in a way that establishes a relationship between itself and the viewer. 100000/10
