  1. The contrast between the cocoa pebbles and the knife (which is catching the light very well in some of these) helps create the sense of focus for the photo set. In many of these I find the sense of texture to be very appealing as well. Perhaps some experimentation with a faster shutter speed and varying aperture settings could have yielded some very interesting photos of the pebbles represented clearly in mid air.

  2. These photos are really intriguing. I think your most successful image is the third photo because you slightly hint at the fact that those are in fact cocoa pebbles. I also agree with Ian that the knife catches the light very nicely in these photos.

  3. the knife was such a creative element to use. The first has a great use of stop motion and the image was so crisp and sharp.

  4. using the knife was a really cool idea, and the jumping movement of the cereal is really captured in your pictures!

  5. The texture of the cocoa pebbles themselves when turned into black and white are pretty grotesque so congratulations in capturing the texture. The first image is staged really well as you have the crisp pebbles resting on the knife as well as some captured in the jumping motion. Great execution.

  6. The knife is such a great touch ;) no but really these turned out great with the different perspectives and motion of the pebbles.

  7. The motion of the coco pebbles and contrast between the blade, knife handle, and cereal combined in the first photo are wonderful.

  8. These photos are so great..I love the abstracted moment, with hints at the "brand" with the logo of the cereal peeping in. It's overall compositionally strong and sharp.

  9. i really love these images and think you definitely captured the grotesque and jumping part of this shoot. the shots with the knife coming out of the edge of the photo don't bother me as much as i would have though because of the angles you shot them from. my only suggestion would have be to integrate the actual garden into your shoot. overall i think you did a really good job though especially capturing the sporadic motion of the pebbles.

  10. Great texture of the cocoa pebbles and the stop motion works very well.

  11. eeek the knife !!! Really smart idea to juxtapose the sweetness of the coco pebbles with such a scary knife. It also served as a good basis for showing the "jumping" of the coco pebbles. The first photo almost feels like the pebbles are jumping off of the ledge of the knife. It was also smart of you to use the chair as a background for the pebbles because it breaks up the textures of the garden in the background so that the coco pubbles can really be showcased.
