Sierra Labra (W6): Eye of the Tiger

A true Professional

EYEEEE OF THE TIGERRRRRRRR

Le texture/ Pattern

Of course, the highlight reel. The models didn't always behave.

some photos should stay in color

"Pretend like you're running" real smooth

I've isolated the subject but be careful, it could still be dangerous.

That juicy juice, the most important of liquids for the hydrating frisbee player.

Stay thirsty my friends, Dos Juicy.

  1. The contrast in your third shot caught my eye because usually when I think of contrast, I always think of just black and white, never white on gray because I feel like that wouldn't provide much contrast. Clearly I was wrong because the girls white shirts still pop and are distinctly recognizable from a distance.

  2. You use of contrast in these images was the first element I recognized while viewing your photos. I enjoyed how this song really ties into your pictures, and it looks like you had a lot of fun shooting these. I suggest that you pay more attention to other compositional elements, and make them more apparent in your pieces, but over all nice work.

  3. I think your 3rd photo is a nice example of isolating the subject. Having them stand so far away and using rule of thirds really added to this image of the simplicity of the subject. Also the one where an ants view of the hands is nice because they contrast with the sky and the perspective is so neat

  4. There's an obvious sense of power with the narrative of the song and action shots of people playing sports, which is captured most effectively with the "landscape" shots.

  5. I find it interesting that there is a recurring use of the triangle shape in many of your shots. I especially think that the triangle-like composition of the group shot is successful.

  6. The sixteenth picture's pattern worked really well and it's interesting how the laces guide your eye up to the shoe and then to the left. The landscape and the subjects really portray the meaning of the song well. However, I would suggest use of more dynamic angles. Good job!!

  7. Great use of isolating the subject in your photos. The symmetry you used was also very successful.

  8. The contrast of the white figures in the 3rd photo, as well as their isolation, were very nice elements. In particular the fifth and sixth photos used the horizon line very well.

  9. The competitive story in these photos shines through. The one with the frisbees between her legs lines is super dynamic and well composed. I wish the frisbees coulve been straighter for a cleaner pic! well done though

  10. This entire series I was getting taken back to Kicking and Screaming (2005) and not sure why. I feel like taking down that trash enemy team and doin it to this bop in a classy montage. Anyways . I think that your formal elements are good. I enjoy the photos of the team posing together with the one girl being raised up on someone’s shoulders and how she is the only person peeking over the tree line. It creates a nice contrast and breaks up the horizontal line of the tree which helps to bring the focus to the entire team. I think that the photos of the shoes are interesting too (those r some neato patterns on them). It could have been cool to take photos of the shoes from directly above with the shoes on their sides. I think juxtaposing that pattern against the textured grass could have made a juicy photo.
