i tried to use this weeks photos to help me decide on what theme id feel comfortable portraying in project 3, nonetheless for this weeks photos i attempted to recreate the emotions/ scenarios i experienced this week. this photoshoot was also inspired by cy twombly and kostis fokas
I enjoyed seeing some of your poetry in your pieces, as well as how you thought of how your shot was gonna be taken, with the texts on the computer. I like your use of editing, but i feel like maybe a different angle or less blurry images for some would be more intresting to me in some aspects, otherwise GJ
ReplyDeleteThe use of blurred motion is successful in the photos of you in the room. Additionally, I agree with Marci that your choice to include poetry adds another thought-provoking element to this set of photos. These photos work well as a series.
ReplyDeleteI really like your poetry at the very end. It was a nice way to end the series while adding further depth to your concept. I think the blurred motion photos were cool but I would have also liked to see various angles angles as well and maybe some closeups.
ReplyDeleteThe third photo is successful in how it disengages from identity; the genitalia and face are both cropped out of the frame. Additionally, the skin contrasts with the 'texture' of the clothing nicely.
ReplyDeleteAntonio, your combination of your photography and the symbolism within these photos was well done. I think it was a great start to figuring out proj. 3 and it effectively portrayed emotion.
ReplyDeleteYou captured your theme really well this week! The use of blur motion created a really cool effect and reminds me of anxiety and confusion. The texture in the first picture works really well, but I would turn down the exposure a bit. really good this week!
ReplyDeletethese are really beautiful photos. The use of text on the laptop in several of your photos are successful in how they're flipped, forcing the viewer to engage in your photos by deciphering the meaning rather than being "told." I wish that the some of the photos using the laptop screen would have been taken in a different location or from different perspectives as they read too similarly to one another, taking away from the uniqueness of each photo. Also, I would be more selective in what you decide to be out of focus vs. what's in focus. I think it would be more beneficial for your work to really play with strong juxtapositions between focus by either having all focused images with 1 or 2 out of focus, showing that there is intention and conceptual meaning behind the lack of focus rather than a technical mistake.
ReplyDeleteThe aesthetic of your photos is spectacular. It's very impressive how you stepped out of your comfort zone with these photos and there's something inviting about your photos, almost a softness within the frame. The text within your photos also aids with your meaning and the poem in the last photo is great with the contrast of the body
ReplyDeleteThe blurred photos get me in my feelsss haha. the theme makes me feel safe idk I feel like your in your safe zone. there is so much emotion in your photos I'm obsessed
ReplyDeleteGreat use of texture in your first and third images. I really like how you incorporated your poetry in this week’s theme.
ReplyDeleteI think the narrative in these photos is very strong and I like how you were successful in communicating vulnerability through them
