These compositions have some interesting elements in juxtaposition to the reflective quality of the jewelry. I could definitely see these magazine ready, specifically the first two images and the last!
I think it was an interesting concept to juxtapose diamond jewelry with random everyday things like cereal. I agree with Jenna. I can definitely picture the last photo being in a magazine.
great job. Your use of bling in places where I wouldn't expect is great. Good composition; elements, and the reflection off the jewelry is a nice touch.
I think your compositions are successful in that you're selling the jewelry by placing them in unconventional settings. The last photograph could have been made stronger contrasted against a dark background so the hands and jewels popped. Also, I would mess around with the red of the strawberries when you convert the photo into B&W so that they also contrast against the ring. Overall, great work and way to make those diamonds "pop."
Interesting approach to incorporating the jewelry into so many other subject matter. Some of them are more successful than others. It may have been better to refine the number of different subject matter to incorporate into the jewelry as it feels sort of all over the place. On the plus side however, it is evident that your subject was diamond jewelry since it is the one cohesive thing among all of your photos.

ReplyDeleteGreat photos this week! The symmetry is really strong in the third photo. Great use of texture in the ninth photo!
ReplyDeleteYour creation of studio lighting was well executed. I'm intrigued by this concept and the third photo has a great composition.
