Sierra Labra (W11?): A Chaotic Mess

A week's culmination of stress, studying and exams all coming to their boiling point today, a Wednesday of all days. Hardest Hump day I have ever had to hurdle, enjoy these crap photos that sum up the neglect of the week.

Les Photos:
Yum, I bet you didn't think I'd start with actual trash.

I regret to inform you that this is just actually how my desk looks 24/7. Quite the chaotic energy.

I actually like this one... no matter how much laundry I do this pile never goes away.

Speaks for itself

This wasn't even staged, all that raw talent had to be exposed, good thing I was poised at the ready.

A forever mood when life gets tough.

Once you enter, you never leave.

The most nerve-wracking point in this week. Moment's after I turned in my exam.

The bike rack's were empty and yet here you lay, a true mood.

Extras? If you wanna call it that.

Great lighting on the trees.

UFO or moon?

I spy with my little eye an artist amidst the chaos trying to get a good photo. Can you see me?

  1. You never cease to amaze with your humor. We all have those weeks totally feel lol. I enjoyed seeing some compositional elements like the symmetry in the library, and the texture/contrast in the palm tree picture. Hope you did well in micro!!!!

  2. The quality of light on the tree in the 13th image is very well done. Also, the busy compositions in the photos of the cluttered desk/room work well with your theme!

  3. Your use of line is very strong in the 10th photo with the library shelves leading to the door. It really does bring about a sense of doom because it seems inevitable that the viewer will have to enter those doors at some point. In the 11th one, the use of perspective was affective. I can feel both the relief from turing in the test and being done and the nerve wracking anxiety from TURNING IN THE TEST because it feels like you've just sealed your fate. Just seeing those chairs from that perspective is giving me traumatic flashbacks. Again your perspective on the 4th photo with the growing mountain of clothes was just as effective. It makes the clothes seem larger than life and helps to dramatize/ while accurately explaining the situation.

  5. The perspective you used on the pile of laundry works really well, and the lighting on the palm tree really shows the texture of the leaves! The Marston desk pictures convey your theme, but I wish there was more contrast within the papers.

  6. Very cohesive theme! I can feel the distress. The symmetry applied in the library photo and the contrast in the palm tree are some of the most successful photos.

  7. I can feel your stress, thats what Econ does to a person. The leading lines were effective in the library photo and each the perspective of the heap of clothes really made it daunting and overwhelming to look at. well done

  8. I really appreciate that you incorporated a self-portrait as your first image, very strong start to the series. idk if it's just me but that 12th photo is really fucking with me (g00d),, it looks like its riding sideways as if its a shadow of a bike upright riding along the shadow plane. i have angst. even thru all of your sTrEsS u still had in mind those darn compositional elements ;-). The only critique I can give is that you don't need some of the repetitive photos of the same subject as it becomes too repetitive. For example, it would have been more interesting seeing only one "FUCK" photo rather than 2, the only time 1 fuck is better than 2 fucks.

  9. so much anxiety haha. you can definitely tell you tried working with different compositions using the same subject and I think you can tell that each photo is well thought out.

  11. I truly relate to your room being a mess because of stress, I actually gave up on cleaning. it up because it just always goes back to being a mess. I think your 10th photo works great at displaying both symmetry and leading lines

  12. your use of humor is always soooo refreshing especially compared to my somber ass shit. i think you did a pretty good job capturing stress in the first few photos with the clutter, my only suggestion would be on the 4th photo to have taken it from a different angle because the sleeves sort of elongate and looks more like a vertical picture of a few articles of clothing, i think taking it form a bird's eye view or just shifting the angle a little bit would have made the image more cluttered. I also love your use of line to convey depth in your 10th photo and the symmetrical/ asymmetrical values in that photo. i always look forward to your photos every week, great job!
