The first and the last images are the most intriguing to me. Decorating easter eggs is a playful, enjoyable experience (as represented in some of your photos), however the first photo is dark and the subject is not easily recognizable at first glance. It's not until clicking through the next photos that you realize what's going on. I also appreciate the last photo as a somewhat unexpected end to the series.
The eighth photo is great in the way in which the egg stands out from its surrounds, though, I think some simple editing could have pushed this even more.
I enjoy seeing an easter egg since this is the season!! I really think the 8th photo is interesting seeing the different lightings and texture of the egg. I also like the last photo (kinda reminds me of humpty Dumpty hehe .)
I don't know why but I really like the fact that you used cups with shapes that mimicked the eggs. I also think the 9th photo has strong contrast between the two eggs.
The contrast in the ninth photo is super dramatic! Also, using the warped bowls add an interesting shape to your pictures. The asymmetry works really well in the first picture.
Your first photo does well in capturing asymmetry and conceptually your last photo is very interesting. It can talk about life and death, the fragility of the egg as it cracked under pressure and what not, great work.
The contrast in the 9th photo shows the before and after of dying the egg. The 10th was a creative twist and ending to the shoot. Your edit was a little powerful as you can tell it's been clarified, but i think it still works. welldone
I think that there was a missed opportunity to create a narrative surrounding this egg and it's process of dying colors and actually dying (,, get it bc its cracked/dead in the last photo, haha . haha. haha. lol. XD ROFlcoptEr.)
your portraits are the strongest part of this photoshoot as they essentially capture the playfulness of dying these eggs different colors. however as john said i think there was a missed opportunity to create a more compelling narrative with these photos. nonetheless you have some great examples of contrast (9th photo) and isolating the subject (8th photo).

ReplyDeleteThese are so fun. I can literally smell the dye and it takes me back to childhood. The texture from the egg was your strongest asset
