Karli Lynn - Week 11

  1. The mellow tone throughout these photos is cohesive in drawing the theme together. As a quality of light it's evident that these where taken on a rainy or overcast day. Extremely successful isolation of the subjects in the first three photos.

  2. Your photographs of the horizon line are very successful this week. Great symmetry in your fourth and fifth photos. Your theme is very strong.

  3. Your seventh photo is possibly your strongest. The symmetry and the way the palm trees interact with the angles of the houses is very interesting. Overall, as a series, this is very cohesive as these images seemed to be framed similarly.

  4. Your theme is very evident thanks to the cohesiveness of your photos. My fave is the first one with the waves crashing into that pier and the pier leading the eye outwards towards the horizon.

  5. The theme is super nice and really create a collection ( I could see these hanging in someone's house lol). My only complaint would be that some of the pictures are pretty dark. The symmetry works really well in the fifth picture, but bumping up the exposure a bit would help!

  6. Your first and second photos are quite captivating. The second photo works well with the rule of thirds aspect and an isolation that represents the calm of the ocean.

  7. The 1st and 2nd photo have a good use of rule of thirds. I can feel the emotion and windy-wet-gloominess of the beach. Well done

  8. You did a nice job capturing your theme cohesively while also varying your subject matter as to not bore us with variances of essentially the same composition. Technically, some of your photos are dark and could use some editing to make them brighter, better capturing the ~beachy, sunny~ aesthetic I think you were going for.

  9. You did a really good job at communicating a gloomy theme because of the rainy weather, the 2nd picture is great at showing rule of thirds

  10. these photos are so calming and stunning, sort of reminds me of ~~~~~the calm before the storm~~~~~. power of the horizon is super prevalent in 2nd, 9th, and 10th photos. i also really love the lines in all your photos, for exmaple in your first photo i love how the pier is sort of a standalone subject but also leads to the clashing of the waves against it. also the curved wire in your 4th photo complements the horizontal and stiff wire fence, also essentially complementing the fluidity of living in a town near the beach. your favorite photo of mine is your 8th, the lines of the roof of the hotel are so crisp compared to the sky, however i'd recommend you somehow edited out the palm trees in the background behind the hotel as it diverts my eyes from the ~~crispyness~~~~. i think you did a great job this week karli !!
